Independence Day Regatta

On a beautiful Independence Day, July 4^th, CYCCM hosted the Independence Day Regatta. The winds were out of the Northwest. Thank you to PRO Dave Crines on a smooth day of racing and three good races. Thank to our race committee Patti Santelle and Patrol Rick Press; Joe Carroll; Rob List and Ken Griffen. MAYRA

CYCCM hosted our MAYRA regatta on Sunday, June 27^th. We had eleven Lasers; five Sunfish; fifteen Opti’s; and two GP-14’s participate in this one-day regatta. Thank you the many volunteers who helped out with this regatta and PC Brian McEwing and PC Rick Coale for a successful day. Winners in the Optimist Fleet were 1^st Overall Abby Lord from CYCCM; in the White Fleet, 1^st Place Brendan Lord, CYCCM; 2^nd Place Kailin Burns Cohen, OCYC; in the Blue Fleet, 1^st Place Abby Lord, CYCCM; 2^nd Place Dylan McGuckin, OCYC; 3^rd Place David Batastini, RYC; in the Red Fleet, 1^st Place Kenny Griffen, CYCCM; 2^nd Place Trevor Long, CYCCM; 3^rd Place Dylan Hancock, OCYC. Sunfish Class 1^st Place Winner and Grandmaster Winnter Keijiroh Yamaguchi, MCSC; 2^nd Place Bill McLaughlin, MCSC; 3^rd Place Carol Flynn, CYCCM. Sunfish Region Regatta

We hosted the Sunfish Regional Regatta on June 19 & 20.  This was a world qualifier and we had 16 boats participating in the two day regatta.  Winds were 8-16 from the south-southwest.  I would like to thank our Principal Race Officer Mark Penny and Race Committee PC Wally Stuard; PC Jack Lord, Sr.; VC Tom Lord; Commodore Leslie Fog; PC Fred Beyer; PC Rick Coale; Chrissy McShane; Debbie Yeager; Gerrit and Patti Schulze; Nancy Sayre; Mary & Sarah Coale; and volunteers from Lower Cape May Regional High School.  Our Overall 1^st Place Winner and 1^st Place Grandmaster was John Meyer, congratulations to John on his advancement to World’s.  1^st Place Woman was Allyn Miner (6^th Place overall) from Cooper River; 1^st Place Junior was Trace Dittenhofer (8^th Overall) from Ocean Gate Yacht Club; and our Open category winners were in 1^st Place John Meyer; 2^nd Place Craig Williams from Yacht Club of Stone Harbor; 3^rd Place Art Littleton from Cooper River Yacht Club; 4^th Place Bill McLaughlin from Marsh Creek Sailing Club; and in 5^th Place Daniel MacElrevey from RBSA.  Congratulations to all the sailors who participated.  It was a pleasure to host this event.
